IAN SMITH

PREFERRED PRONOUNS: HE/HIM

NUMBER OF YEARS IN THE NSSL: 15

CURRENT TEAM: TWISTED KILTS D

SUBMITTED BY KIARA SMITH: Ian embodies what the league is all about- a safe space for softball enthusiasts to play the game they love, be themselves unequivocally, and have a blast doing it! He has tirelessly dedicated 15 years to building his legacy in this league as a player and now head coach. As a coach, Ian leads with a fiery passion and pushes every player that he encounters to be their best selves-on and off the field. I’ve watched him pour so much of his time, energy, as well as personal finances, into his team to ensure they are set up for success as much as possible. Ian promotes and advocates for the league not just locally in Birmingham, but with established roots in cities like Huntsville and Atlanta also. With over 20 tournaments under his belt, he has built many relationships. He makes newcomers feel welcomed, along with the genuine camaraderie that this league has to offer. Ian Smith deserves to be in the NSSL Hall of Fame not only for his past efforts, or what he’s currently achieving in building a team, but for the legacy and vision that he has for the future of his team and this league!

BRAD WEBB

PREFERRED PRONOUNS: HE/HIM

NUMBER OF YEARS IN THE NSSL: 10

CURRENT TEAM: FIRE BREATHING KITTENS

SUBMITTED BY JASON HENDERSON: I have the honor of nominating to the NSSL Hall of Fame Brad Webb. Brad embodies everything that the league values. He is a strong competitor on the field, and a stronger friend off the field. Brad has made many close friendships with people on all teams, all divisions and those who are only fans. He has played in over 50 tournaments and 4 Gay Softball World Series – finishing 3rd in one and 1st in another, both in the E division. Brad has worked extensively to help promote the league as both as not only a player, but a team rep and as multiple tournament directors’ tenures. Brad is directly responsible for many folks joining the league in his promotion of the league. He has promoted the visibility of the league in his drag persona of Ella Foxx, recently riding the Pride Parade on the New South Softball Float. Not only am I fortunate enough to call Brad a teammate and my coach, but he is also one of my very best friends. Actually, at this point, me and my whole family have come to think of him as the little brother we never knew we had. He is my family, and I am thankful for that every day. Because of all of this, and more, It’s my honor to nominate Brad Webb for entrance into the NSSL 2025 Hall of Fame

CURRENT TEAM: Birmingham Sliders

Hudson is one of the most well-known players in our league. He has been a player, coach, and manager for the Sliders during his time in the league. He has participated in over 30 tournaments and three Gay Softball World Series.

In 2021, he took on a leadership role to help me as a coach. He keeps our team moving forward as a pitcher and is willing to play any position needed to help the team. He has helped teams in the E Division at practices to help them improve, pitched at ratings days to help the league, and routinely picks up during Fall Ball to help teams get the chance to play.

BRIAN LECROY

PREFERRED PRONOUNS: HE/HIM

NUMBER OF YEARS IN THE NSSL: 11

CURRENT TEAM: Birmingham Sliders D

Submitted by Tiffaney Piper:
Lecroy is one of the most well-known players in our league. He is a person everyone feels like they can talk to and hang out with for a good time. Lecroy is the unofficial bookkeeper for the Sliders. While not a player, Lecroy is someone we can always count on to be at the field and prepared to help the team. He is always there to support, speak to umpires for book concerns, and help in any other managerial capacity the team needs.

As any team knows—a good and consistent bookkeeper is such an important part of a team. Being able to play and coach without worrying about the book is incredibly helpful, and I personally believe this is something we should consider for our Hall of Fame.
